Vandi and T originally planned to have their engagement session at the Palácio de Monserrate in Sintra — a dreamy, romantic spot surrounded by gardens and Moorish-inspired architecture. But on the day of the shoot, the palace was closed due to weather.
Instead of letting the change dampen the moment, we quickly pivoted and headed to Belém, one of Lisbon’s most scenic and historic neighborhoods. It turned out to be the perfect backup.
We started by taking photos outside the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, using the beautiful arches and stonework as our backdrop. The soft light, open space, and intricate details brought such a calm and romantic feel to the images.
Then, after checking, we found out we were allowed to take photos inside the monastery — a rare and unexpected bonus. The moment we stepped in, we knew it was the right call. The quiet cloisters, beautiful hallways, and stunning architecture gave us the sense of peace and intimacy Vandi and T had originally envisioned for their day.
